			<video:title>A Meal to Remember - 05/30/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Memorial Day is one of those holidays that I think we forget why it was established and often times only view it as the kick off to summer. Memorial Day used to be called, Decoration Day. After the Civil War people went to the graves of the men and women who had died in the armed services and left flowers, flags or both to remember what they did for our country.
The memorial I want to look at this morning is much simpler than those and has been around a lot longer. This memorial was established the night before Jesus was killed. It is a meal of remembrance that is referred to as the Lord’s Supper or communion.

<video:description>Some of you may be wondering if you fit in here at CPCC. If you’re asking that question, my guess is you aren’t serving anywhere yet, or you’re serving areas that God did not gift you to serve in. It is important that everyone find those 2 areas of service that will eliminate any question about whether or not you fit in, and will help us do what God wants us to do.

Jesus promised a life that is much different than most people think the “religious life” is all about. He didn't outline a burdensome life that ultimately leads to spiritual exhaustion. He outlined a life of rest, of peace. A way that is easy. A burden that is light.

			<video:title>Becoming an Acts 2 Kind of Church - 05/02/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Which is more important – saving a lost soul or feeding a hungry stomach?
As we prepare to enter our Center for Community in a few months, I think we have to begin planning now for how we are going to use the facility to fill the hole in people’s lives. I am going to ask that you not wait for our leadership to come up with ideas, but that you begin praying and thinking about what you can do with our new home to help meet the needs of others. It will always be a place where the spiritual hole will be filled; it must also be a place where we do our very best to meet the physical needs of people and fill that hole as well.

My goal this morning is to totally debunk that way of thinking at least when it comes to faith matters.
Those who elect to play it safe in their faith, will miss the joy of seeing what God is really able to do in their lives.

			<video:title>Beware of Tolerating Things God Doesn't - 1/31/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Tension arises when we at the same time we want to be gracious and loving.
There will be times, no matter how hard we try, when we take a stand for truth, that people who disagree, will accuse us of being ungracious and unloving. So what often times happens is people back off from the truth and tolerate things that are 180 degrees opposite of what God wants.
There is always going to be tension when we try to be filled with grace and truth. But we have to be committed to both/and not either/or.

I hope and pray you will celebrate the freedom we have in this great nation tomorrow, but I hope you will also celebrate the perfect freedom we have been given by God through Jesus Christ.

			<video:title>Changed by God's Amazing Grace - 07/10/2011</video:title>
<video:description>There is a word in the English language that almost always guarantees a response when people hear it or experience it. You’ve already experienced it this morning – it is the word – CHANGE. Depending on who you are, change is something you resist or embrace.
By nature we are not disciples or followers of Jesus, we have to become one and order for that to happen, changes have to occur.

			<video:title>Daddy Issues - Father's Day - 06/20/2010</video:title>
<video:description>I’ve got daddy issues with God and I’m guessing I’m not alone.
In Galatians 4:6 Paul wrote – God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out – “Abba, Father.”
As Christians, our spirit becomes like the Spirit of God and we can say to God – Abba.
The word “Abba” is the Aramaic word for “Father.” It is used by small children in addressing their fathers and is similar to our English word “Daddy.” What Paul is saying here is that because of what Jesus did for us, we are able to refer to the God of the universe as daddy. Not only are we able, but it is something God prefers.
As fathers we are called by God to be the primary spiritual leader in our homes and that doesn’t mean we just teach stuff, it means that we model it. And I can’t think of a better way that as parents we can begin to fill the spiritual hole in our kids than to do what I’m suggesting this morning.
My prayer this morning is we could all examine our relationship with our Heavenly Father and resolve any daddy issues that we might have. I have daddy issues, and I’m guessing I’m not alone.

			<video:title>Each Part Enables Growing Together - 05/16/2010</video:title>
<video:description>In many ways the church, is like a crew of construction workers working to build a physical structure. I have to say I am excited about what I see happening within this church body as people are discovering the role God wants them to play. More and more people are engaging in ministry and being the church as we work to fill the spiritual and physical needs of the people around us. I am also encouraged by the way people are plugging into our Growing Together Campaign.

<video:description>You know it all started with three words – God used just three words to cast a vision for His people. But to fully understand the impact these words had, we need to understand what kind of life the Hebrews were living when they heard them. Turn with me to Exodus 1 and while you’re doing that I’ll give you a little history reminder.

			<video:title>Filling the Hole - 4/11/2010</video:title>
<video:description>– comes from the idea that I hope Colonial Point Christian Church will be a both/and church and be concerned about not only a person’s salvation, but meeting the physical needs of the poor as well.
The first step I feel we need to take to make that possible is to make sure we have a clear picture of what the Bible has to say about the poor. And if I may, let me summarize it in two words – a lot.</video:description>

<video:description>If we want to Fill the Hole we need to trust God enough to follow His plan for managing His wealth. As best I can tell that plan includes that we Give Some, Keep Some and Leave Some. My guess is there is at least one of those each of us could improve on today – which one will it be in your life? Which one will we trust God with and experience His blessing like never before?

			<video:title>In Pursuit of Happiness - 07/18/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Happiness is perhaps one of the most sought after treasures in the world and for many the most elusive. We seek it, surrogate it and surrender it time and time again. We’re always on the hunt for happiness so much so we’ll buy into the happiness if onlies. You know what the if onlies are, don’t you? They’re the statements we hear people say about what would make them happy:
if onlies” are those things we think will make us happy but when we get them, we discover they can’t do what we thought they would.
Happiness is one of those things most people always seem to be striving for but not quite achieving. I wonder if part of the reason isn’t because we really don’t understand what happiness really is.

			<video:title>Is Your Perception Reality? - 2/14/2010</video:title>
<video:description>How many of you have heard or said the phrase, Perception is reality?
I think the most important thing we have to remember about perception is it’s subjective. How we perceive things is based on the lenses and filters of our lives.
The question this morning is: Are we where we need to be spiritually? Are we where God wants us to be?

			<video:title>Joseph - A Character We Can Identify With - 12/11/2011</video:title>
<video:description>Joseph’s story reminds us God is trustworthy and obeying Him is always the best option.
Joseph’s story, I think reminds us of the importance of trust and Obedience. How much we can trust God and the benefits of obeying Him because He can be trusted. What if Joseph had not obeyed God at any step of the way? It would have changed God’s greater story, but he didn’t. God chose Joseph because He knew he would obey. Are we at that point in our life?
What if God were looking for a stepfather for His son today? Would He consider any of us to fill that role?

			<video:title>Living Up To Our Name - 10/31/2010</video:title>
			<video:description>How important are names?
I’ve come to the conclusion they are very important. Our lifestyle has to match our name, Christians, or we have taken it in vain.
Being a Christian is not easy – anyone who says it is, is a liar. It’s hard to live up to the name of the one who loved us enough to come to this Earth and die so that when we don’t live up to our namesake, we are forgiven.
That’s one of the greatest parts of being a follower of Jesus – we don’t have to be perfect, just willing to be forgiven.</video:description>

			<video:title>Must History Repeat Itself? - 2/07/2010</video:title>
			<video:description>Avoid the seduction!
What happens is sometimes over the years, people tolerate things they shouldn’t and compromise what they know to be true. Let me rephrase that – sometimes we become tolerant of things we shouldn’t and compromise what we know to be true as well.
The promise Jesus gave to those who remain faithful, stand firm, don’t give an inch of their life to Satan and help others do the same is inspiring.

<video:title>Sharing Our Less Than Perfect Story - 06/27/2010</video:title>
<video:description>For the last couple of weeks we have been exploring the summary of Blasé Pascal’s thoughts about how we all have a hole in our lives that only God can fill. Two weeks ago I asked you to think about a couple of questions – the first was – Do we believe that people who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will go to Hell? And the second was, if we believe that to be true, what are we willing to do about it?
This morning I want to talk about something very simple that we can all do to help those who don’t have a saving relationship with Jesus to fill their God shaped hole. My hope is we’ll even utilize it some time during the next week.

<video:title>The Conflict of the Easter Epic - 3/28/2010</video:title>
<video:description>What would life be without conflict? Pretty Sweet – wouldn’t it, or would it?
I want you to try and imagine what life would be like if the Easter Story didn’t have conflict. Last week I tried to establish the context and main characters for the Easter Story because it is necessary to have a firm grasp on those elements before we dive into the conflict. ....The conflict of the Easter Epic is a battle that has been raging in the Heavens for a very long time.

<video:title>The Context and Characters of the Easter Epic - 3/21/2010</video:title>
<video:description>I made the case last week that the Easter Story is Something Truly Epic. We looked at the meaning of the word epic and how if you think about it, there has never been, nor will there ever be a more epic story than the story of Jesus. I also reminded us there are at least four parts to every good story –
the context, characters, conflict and conclusion.

			<video:title>The Epic Conclusion - 4/04/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Today we’re going to reach the summit of our month-long journey entitled Something Truly Epic. During the journey we’ve taken a look at the story of Easter with the attitude it's not just a good story, it is an EPIC story.
Jesus is Alive, So We can live forever.

			<video:title>The Greatest Paradox of All - 06/13/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted and even struck down – these are all things that might happen if we elect to help others find the answer to the hole that exists in their heart. Some might think it’s a bad thing for these things to happen, but the irony is when they do they might cause cracks in us – the clay pots. And if you think about it, if as Paul says earlier in 2 Corinthians 4 what we possess in our clay pots is the light of Jesus Christ how will the light ever get out if there aren’t any cracks.
One of the things we will discover in the next few weeks is just how useful broken people are to God when it comes to sharing His message. So don’t think you have to have it all together in order to fill the spiritual holes in someone else’s life – reality is if you have it all together – no one will be able to see Jesus in you.
I want to close this morning by giving you an assignment to think about this week. It’s two question that you’ve heard before, but I want you think about throughout the week.
Do you believe people who don’t have a faith in Jesus Christ will go to Hell?
If yes, what are you willing to do about it?

John 3:17, 36, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, 2 Corinthians 4:7, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9,</video:description>

<video:title>The Most Important Thing a Mom Can Give Her Kids- 5/09/2010</video:title>
<video:description>Today we want to honor moms by looking at the most important thing moms give to their children.
If you think about it, moms give more to us than we can imagine – first and foremost they gave us life. And for many of us it was our mothers who gave us our sense of security, our good looks, our sense of humor, our first understanding of compassion and grace. Without doubt the list goes on and on, but there is one thing I want to point to this morning as THE most important thing a mom gives to her children – and that is her faith.</video:description>
