A Meal to Remember - 05/30/2010

May 30, 2010 by Dave Johnson

Memorial Day is one of those holidays that I think we forget why it was established and often times only view it as the kick off to summer. Memorial Day used to be called, Decoration Day. After the Civil War people went to the graves of the men and women who had died in the armed services and left flowers, flags or both to remember what they did for our country.

The memorial I want to look at this morning is much simpler than those and has been around a lot longer. This memorial was established the night before Jesus was killed. It is a meal of remembrance that is referred to as the Lord’s Supper or communion.
