The Greatest Paradox of All - 06/13/2010

June 13, 2010 by Dave Johnson

Hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted and even struck down – these are all things that might happen if we elect to help others find the answer to the hole that exists in their heart. Some might think it’s a bad thing for these things to happen, but the irony is when they do they might cause cracks in us – the clay pots. And if you think about it, if as Paul says earlier in 2 Corinthians 4 what we possess in our clay pots is the light of Jesus Christ how will the light ever get out if there aren’t any cracks.

One of the things we will discover in the next few weeks is just how useful broken people are to God when it comes to sharing His message. So don’t think you have to have it all together in order to fill the spiritual holes in someone else’s life – reality is if you have it all together – no one will be able to see Jesus in you.

I want to close this morning by giving you an assignment to think about this week. It’s two question that you’ve heard before, but I want you think about throughout the week.

  1. Do you believe people who don’t have a faith in Jesus Christ will go to Hell?
  2. If yes, what are you willing to do about it?

John 3:17, 36, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, 2 Corinthians 4:7, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9,
